1. Introduction

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made on onlyone.you ("the Website") for the bio page service ("the Service") provided by David Alston, trading as 'Only One You' Pro Bio Pages, a sole trader based at Halton Mill, Mill Lane, Halton, Lancaster, LA2 6ND ("we", "us", "our").

This policy is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law.

2. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

2.1. We offer a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee on all new subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with the Service for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 calendar days of your initial subscription payment.

2.2. This guarantee applies to:

  • Monthly subscriptions (£10.00) — first payment only

Annual subscriptions (£60.00) — first payment only

2.3. The guarantee is available once per customer. It applies to your first subscription only and does not extend to renewal payments, re-subscriptions, or additional purchases.

3. How to Request a Refund

3.1. To request a refund under the 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee, simply email help@onlyone.you with:

  • Subject line: "Refund Request"

Your full name

The email address associated with your account

Your approximate date of purchase

3.2. You do not need to provide a reason for your refund request. No questions asked.

3.3. We aim to acknowledge your request within 2 business days.

4. Processing Your Refund

4.1. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 calendar days of approval.

4.2. Refunds will be issued via the same payment method used for the original transaction, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, s.45(4). 

4.3. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

4.4. Upon refund, your subscription will be cancelled and access to paid features of the Service will be revoked.

5. Statutory Cooling-Off Period

5.1. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK and EU consumers purchasing online have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract is entered into, during which you may cancel for any reason. 

5.2. Because the Service provides immediate access to digital content/services, at the point of purchase we will ask you to:

  • (a) Expressly consent to receiving the Service before the 14-day period expires; and

(b) Acknowledge that you will lose your statutory right to cancel once the Service has begun.

5.3. If you have not given the consent described in 5.2, you retain your full 14-day statutory cancellation right and are entitled to a full refund.

5.4. If you have given consent and the Service has begun, you may still be entitled to a partial refund on a pro-rata basis for the portion of the Service not yet consumed, depending on the circumstances.

5.5. Our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee is more generous than the 14-day statutory cooling-off period. If your refund request falls within 30 days of your initial purchase, our guarantee applies and you will receive a full refund regardless.

6. Refunds After 30 Days

6.1. After the 30-day guarantee period has expired, refunds are not generally offered for change of mind.

6.2. However, you may still be entitled to remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the Service:

  • Is not of satisfactory quality (s.34);

Is not fit for a particular purpose (s.35);

Does not match its description (s.36).

In such cases, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or price reduction (which may amount to a full refund). 

6.3. We assess all post-30-day refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

7. Renewal Payments

7.1. Subscription renewals (monthly or annual) will be charged automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

7.2. If you have been charged for a renewal in error (e.g., you cancelled but were still charged), please contact us immediately at help@onlyone.you and we will issue a full refund of the erroneous charge promptly.

8. Chargebacks

8.1. We ask that you contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. We are committed to resolving refund requests fairly and quickly.

8.2. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending investigation.

9. International Customers

9.1. EU customers: You benefit from the 14-day statutory cooling-off period under the Consumer Rights Directive (implemented in your country of residence) in addition to our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.

9.2. US customers: While US federal law does not mandate a specific cooling-off period for digital services, our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee applies equally to you. State-specific consumer protection laws may also apply.

9.3. All refunds are processed in GBP (£). Any currency conversion fees or exchange rate differences charged by your bank are your responsibility.

10. Your Statutory Rights

10.1. Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer. UK statutory rights are summarised at: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/.

11. Upcoming Regulatory Changes

11.1. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 introduces new subscription contract requirements including enhanced cooling-off rights, mandatory renewal notices, and simplified cancellation processes. These provisions are expected to commence in Autumn 2026. We will update this policy to comply with these new requirements when they come into force.
